Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.87% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 1.63% or 7.50 points to trade at 466.60 at the close. Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) added 1.49% or 2.60 points to end at 177.60 and Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) was up 1.44% or 1.15 points to 81.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which lost 3.29% or 0.43 points to trade at 12.64 in late trade. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 1.47% or 1.15 points to end at 77.00 and Elia (EBR:ELI) shed 0.73% or 0.70 points to 95.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 55 to 39 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 5.10 to $2,430.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.52% or 1.15 to hit $74.66 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.35% or 1.07 to trade at $77.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 104.39.
