Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which rose 7.21% or 5.26 points to trade at 78.17 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) added 2.27% or 1.35 points to end at 60.85 and Ageas (EBR:AGES) was up 1.21% or 0.58 points to 48.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR:AZE), which lost 1.52% or 0.28 points to trade at 18.15 in late trade. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) declined 0.89% or 0.10 points to end at 11.20 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) shed 0.28% or 0.06 points to 21.44.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 52 to 36 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.08% or 2.30 to $2,748.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.54% or 1.10 to hit $72.57 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.37% or 1.03 to trade at $76.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 103.43.
