Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 3.39% or 1.46 points to trade at 44.53 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) added 1.98% or 1.92 points to end at 99.03 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was up 1.73% or 0.69 points to 40.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which lost 0.43% or 0.06 points to trade at 13.96 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 0.11% or 0.03 points to end at 28.46 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) gained 0.20% or 0.17 points to 85.18.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 75 to 31 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.35% or 4.60 to $1314.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.17% or 0.08 to hit $46.52 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.54% or 0.28 to trade at $51.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1923, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.9218.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 92.64.
