Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 2.45% or 0.39 points to trade at 16.28 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 1.92% or 0.94 points to end at 49.88 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was up 1.26% or 1.02 points to 81.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which lost 1.17% or 0.29 points to trade at 24.60 in late trade. Sofina (BR:SOF) declined 0.69% or 1.00 points to end at 143.80 and UCB (BR:UCB) shed 0.48% or 0.30 points to 62.02.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 47 and 21 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.01% or 0.10 to $1312.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.93% or 1.32 to hit $69.75 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.71% or 1.26 to trade at $74.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1944, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8824.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 92.50.
