Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 4.46% or 1.12 points to trade at 26.24 at the close. Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) added 2.40% or 1.86 points to end at 79.24 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) was up 1.71% or 1.18 points to 70.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which lost 1.25% or 0.42 points to trade at 33.13 in late trade. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 1.00% or 0.60 points to end at 59.30 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) shed 0.85% or 0.18 points to 21.02.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 55 to 35 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.71% or 72.95 to $2,621.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.97% or 2.09 to hit $68.29 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.65% or 1.96 to trade at $71.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 105.43.
