Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 2.33% or 11.30 points to trade at 497.30 at the close. Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) added 2.29% or 0.85 points to end at 38.00 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) was up 1.27% or 0.90 points to 71.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which lost 2.34% or 0.26 points to trade at 10.86 in late trade. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) declined 1.28% or 0.09 points to end at 6.57 and Elia (EBR:ELI) shed 0.98% or 0.95 points to 95.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 43 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.51% or 13.55 to $2,662.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.42% or 1.83 to hit $73.73 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.26% or 1.79 to trade at $77.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 103.02.
