Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Sofina (BR:SOF), which rose 2.93% or 4.20 points to trade at 147.40 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) added 1.43% or 1.000 points to end at 70.700 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 1.32% or 2.00 points to 153.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 0.59% or 0.082 points to trade at 13.896 in late trade. Ablynx NV (BR:ABLX) declined 0.27% or 0.120 points to end at 44.760 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 0.24% or 0.06 points to 24.62.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 51 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.07% or 0.90 to $1315.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.71% or 1.92 to hit $68.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.22% or 1.69 to trade at $74.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1881, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8770.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 92.84.
