Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB), which rose 2.43% or 3.90 points to trade at 164.10 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 1.55% or 9.20 points to end at 604.60 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) was up 1.35% or 0.75 points to 56.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which lost 1.17% or 2.25 points to trade at 189.40 in late trade. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) declined 0.69% or 0.07 points to end at 10.10 and Elia (EBR:ELI) shed 0.07% or 0.05 points to 73.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 31 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.14% or 3.64 to $2,631.84 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.26% or 0.87 to hit $70.11 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.13% or 0.82 to trade at $73.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 108.01.
