Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 8.47% or 1.92 points to trade at 24.60 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 2.52% or 1.04 points to end at 42.27 and KBC (BR:KBC) was up 2.03% or 1.440 points to 72.280 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which lost 1.33% or 0.64 points to trade at 47.55 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.26% or 1.080 points to end at 84.880 and Sofina (BR:SOF) shed 0.68% or 1.00 points to 146.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 63 to 59 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.08% or 1.00 to $1291.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.36% or 0.26 to hit $72.61 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.90% or 0.71 to trade at $79.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1782, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8770.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.48.
