Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.27% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB), which rose 4.17% or 7.20 points to trade at 179.80 at the close. Elia (EBR:ELI) added 2.01% or 1.95 points to end at 99.10 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was up 1.99% or 0.62 points to 31.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 1.71% or 0.46 points to trade at 26.38 in late trade. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 1.27% or 6.00 points to end at 468.10 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) shed 0.40% or 0.22 points to 55.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 57 to 35 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.94% or 24.00 to $2,536.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.33% or 1.77 to hit $74.14 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.84% or 1.45 to trade at $77.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 101.58.
