Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB), which rose 1.73% or 1.60 points to trade at 94.32 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) added 1.40% or 1.45 points to end at 105.20 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 1.24% or 1.60 points to 130.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which lost 1.57% or 0.64 points to trade at 40.25 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 1.34% or 0.63 points to end at 46.42 and Ageas (BR:AGES) shed 0.96% or 0.400 points to 41.215.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 75 to 42 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.67% or 8.58 to $1269.52 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.99% or 0.54 to hit $55.08 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.35% or 0.82 to trade at $61.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.1606, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.8882.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.89.
