Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (EBR:ELI), which rose 3.46% or 3.25 points to trade at 97.10 at the close. Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) added 1.52% or 1.04 points to end at 69.43 and Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) was up 1.33% or 0.09 points to 6.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI), which lost 0.62% or 0.34 points to trade at 54.86 in late trade. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 0.53% or 2.60 points to end at 485.90 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) shed 0.32% or 0.08 points to 24.98.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 52 to 38 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 5.20 to $2,509.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.10% or 1.68 to hit $78.38 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.96% or 1.61 to trade at $80.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 102.69.
