Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 1.61% or 1.36 points to trade at 85.78 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 1.49% or 0.66 points to end at 45.08 and Sofina (BR:SOF) was up 1.47% or 2.40 points to 166.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 2.64% or 0.64 points to trade at 23.56 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 1.84% or 0.75 points to end at 40.12 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) shed 1.79% or 1.40 points to 76.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 61 to 50 and 21 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.32% or 3.80 to $1202.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.25% or 0.17 to hit $67.03 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.07% or 0.05 to trade at $72.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.1341, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8918.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 96.58.
