Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI), which rose 1.48% or 0.88 points to trade at 60.48 at the close. Aedifica (EBR:AOO) added 1.20% or 0.75 points to end at 63.35 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was up 1.13% or 0.43 points to 38.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which lost 2.97% or 2.25 points to trade at 73.44 in late trade. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) declined 2.30% or 0.25 points to end at 10.61 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) shed 1.78% or 0.46 points to 25.34.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 49 to 47 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.62% or 16.50 to $2,682.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 5.19% or 3.83 to hit $70.00 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 5.00% or 3.87 to trade at $73.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 102.97.
