Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 4.83% or 0.50 points to trade at 10.85 at the close. Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) added 4.13% or 1.30 points to end at 32.75 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) was up 2.93% or 2.02 points to 70.96 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which lost 3.41% or 5.60 points to trade at 158.85 in late trade. Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) declined 1.78% or 0.44 points to end at 24.30 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) shed 1.32% or 0.85 points to 63.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 47 to 47 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.71% or 18.50 to $2,590.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.70% or 1.17 to hit $70.19 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.40% or 1.02 to trade at $73.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 100.61.
