Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 3.43% or 0.48 points to trade at 14.47 at the close. Ageas (EBR:AGES) added 1.64% or 0.70 points to end at 43.36 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.17% or 0.28 points to 24.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aedifica (EBR:AOO), which lost 2.18% or 1.25 points to trade at 56.00 in late trade. Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) declined 1.73% or 1.00 points to end at 56.95 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) shed 1.49% or 0.38 points to 25.14.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 58 to 29 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.08% or 1.85 to $2,345.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $80.64 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.08 to trade at $85.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.82.
