Investing.com – Israel equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Communication, Biomed and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 25 lost 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 25 were ICL Israel Chemicals Ltd (TA:ICL), which rose 3.24% or 57 points to trade at 1817 at the close. Israel Corp (TA:ILCO) added 2.53% or 1780 points to end at 72100 and Strauss Group (TA:STRS) was up 2.29% or 134 points to 5997 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bezeq (TA:BEZQ), which lost 2.46% or 20.8 points to trade at 825.0 in late trade. Elbit Systems (TA:ESLT) declined 2.36% or 910 points to end at 37700 and Delek Group (TA:DLEKG) shed 1.89% or 1250 points to 64920.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 178 to 173 and 101 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.24% or 0.10 to $42.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.23% or 0.10 to hit $43.93 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.11% or 1.40 to trade at $1255.70 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.08% to 3.7593, while EUR/ILS fell 0.32% to 4.2597.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 94.23.
