Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 1.04% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 2.55% or 2.130 points to trade at 85.780 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) added 0.88% or 0.310 points to end at 35.440 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 0.96% or 0.370 points to 39.090 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 10.83% or 0.650 points to trade at 5.350 in late trade. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) declined 4.10% or 0.390 points to end at 9.130 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) shed 3.56% or 1.130 points to 30.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 97 to 48 and 12 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.46% or 4.90 to $1076.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.20% or 1.18 to hit $35.59 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 4.54% or 1.80 to trade at $37.92 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.09% to 17.3790, while EUR/MXN rose 1.57% to 19.1076.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 97.57.
