Investing.com – Norway equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Media and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX declined 1.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS), which rose 1.61% or 0.2 points to trade at 12.6 at the close. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) added 0.75% or 0.30 points to end at 39.94 and Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC) was up 0.33% or 1.0 points to 305.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OL:REC), which lost 8.08% or 0.17 points to trade at 1.88 in late trade. Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) declined 6.72% or 0.90 points to end at 12.50 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) shed 3.44% or 1.15 points to 32.32.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 129 to 62 and 3 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.83% or 0.73 to $40.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.65% or 1.12 to hit $43.62 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.32% or 3.40 to trade at $1057.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.94% to 9.2723, while USD/NOK fell 1.74% to 8.5043.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.82% at 98.22.
