Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Endesa (MC:ELE), which rose 0.97% or 0.215 points to trade at 22.410 at the close. Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) added 0.63% or 0.085 points to end at 13.500 and Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) was up 0.61% or 0.330 points to 54.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which lost 2.94% or 0.540 points to trade at 17.840 in late trade. Gamesa (MC:GAM) declined 2.93% or 0.575 points to end at 19.020 and Repsol (MC:REP) shed 2.17% or 0.305 points to 13.770.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 112 to 50 and 25 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.09% or 1.08 to $1245.62 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.61% or 1.16 to hit $43.27 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.30% or 1.08 to trade at $45.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1125, while EUR/GBP rose 0.72% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 97.46.
