Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Information Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were AK Enerji (IS:AKENR), which rose 14.95% or 0.160 points to trade at 1.230 at the close. Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) added 10.89% or 1.10 points to end at 11.20 and Eczacibasi Ilac (IS:ECILC) was up 4.90% or 0.140 points to 3.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Izmir Demir Celik (IS:IZMDC), which lost 5.54% or 0.15 points to trade at 2.56 in late trade. Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) declined 4.73% or 0.46 points to end at 9.26 and Aksa (IS:AKSA) shed 4.18% or 0.50 points to 11.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 222 to 182 and 11 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 1.19% or 14.30 to $1188.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.69% or 0.39 to hit $56.22 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.59 to trade at $62.67 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.04% to 2.7132, while EUR/TRY rose 0.90% to 2.9102.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 98.26.
