Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.55% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which rose 9.27% or 0.510 points to trade at 6.010 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 8.16% or 0.040 points to end at 0.530 and Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG) was up 8.00% or 0.100 points to 1.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which lost 2.46% or 0.320 points to trade at 12.680 in late trade. Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) declined 1.40% or 0.003 points to end at 0.212 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) shed 1.03% or 1.620 points to 155.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 7 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 4.16% or 1.86 to $46.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.12% or 0.06 to hit $48.16 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.70% or 23.10 to trade at $1333.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2880, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6395.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 96.55.
