NEW YORK - Arevon Energy, Inc., a prominent renewable energy company, and Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ: NASDAQ:META) have established two Environmental Attributes Purchase Agreements for the Kelso Solar Project located in Scott County, Missouri.

The project is set to produce 349 megawatts (MWac) of power aimed at supporting Meta's regional operations with 100% renewable energy.

The Kelso Solar Project, owned and operated by Arevon, is expected to offer significant economic benefits to the local community. The construction phase will create over 450 full-time equivalent jobs and, once operational, the project will maintain five permanent positions. Local landowners are set to receive millions of dollars in annual revenue through land leases, and the project will contribute more than $34 million to local government entities over its lifespan, including nearly $28 million to area schools.

Urvi Parekh, Head of Renewable Energy at Meta, emphasized the company's commitment to renewable energy, stating that the partnership with Arevon aligns with Meta's sustainability goals and supports the creation of resilient energy infrastructure. Kevin Smith, CEO of Arevon, echoed this sentiment, expressing the company’s enthusiasm for contributing to Meta's renewable energy objectives and the broader energy transition.

The Kelso Solar Project is scheduled to commence operations in two phases, with the first phase expected to go live in the fourth quarter of 2025 and the second phase shortly thereafter in the first quarter of 2026.

Arevon Energy, headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, and New York City, operates over 3,500 MW of solar, storage, and hybrid assets. The company is currently constructing more than 1,000 MW of new capacity and has a development portfolio exceeding 6 gigawatts. Arevon's commitment to innovation and technology in renewable energy has been recognized with the company being named one of Arizona's Top Workplaces in 2022 and 2023.
