Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 5.95% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.890 at the close. Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM:VOLa) added 3.85% or 0.100 points to end at 2.700 and Unacem (LM:CEL) was up 2.13% or 0.050 points to 2.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which lost 14.29% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.0600 in late trade. PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX) unchanged 4.00% or 0.00 points to end at 0.05 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) shed 3.16% or 0.400 points to 12.250.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 3.78% or 2.00 to $50.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $53.09 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.97% or 12.60 to trade at $1281.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2470, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.4833.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 99.71.
