Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Auto & components, Healthcare Equipment & Services and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 2.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC), which rose 6.18% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.50 at the close. Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OSLO:DETNOR) added 5.13% or 2.52 points to end at 51.65 and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (OSLO:RCLo) was up 4.24% or 30.5 points to 750.5 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OSLO:PGS), which added 0.17% or 0.06 points to trade at 35.50 in late trade. Bw Lpg (OSLO:BWLPG) added 0.37% or 0.20 points to end at 53.70 and Marine Harvest ASA (OSLO:MHG) gained 0.87% or 0.85 points to 98.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 142 to 37 and 2 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.99% or 0.92 to $47.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 1.26% or 0.64 to hit $51.13 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.91% or 10.30 to trade at $1123.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.59% to 9.2000, while USD/NOK rose 0.49% to 8.2837.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.66% at 96.52.
