Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, S&P Lima Juniors and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 1.01% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Edegel (LM:EDE), which rose 5.77% or 0.150 points to trade at 2.750 at the close. Credicorp (LM:BAP) added 2.96% or 4.790 points to end at 166.800 and Panoro (LM:PML) was up 2.24% or 0.003 points to 0.137 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Minsur (LM:MINi), which lost 2.76% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.410 in late trade. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) declined 1.59% or 0.050 points to end at 3.100 and Relapasa (LM:REL) shed 1.49% or 0.004 points to 0.264.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 14 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.17% or 1.15 to $51.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.69% or 0.94 to hit $54.78 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 3.05 to trade at $1235.15 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.44% to 3.2960, while EUR/PEN rose 0.01% to 3.5158.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 100.38.
