Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Energy, Media and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which rose 3.18% or 0.44 points to trade at 14.26 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) added 2.13% or 3.70 points to end at 177.15 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 1.98% or 0.49 points to 25.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included mBank (WA:MBK), which lost 3.88% or 14.95 points to trade at 370.05 in late trade. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 2.51% or 0.34 points to end at 13.21 and PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) shed 1.84% or 0.55 points to 29.39.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 279 to 275 and 113 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.99% or 0.44 to $44.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.47% or 0.23 to hit $47.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.29% or 3.40 to trade at $1166.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.57% to 4.2763, while USD/PLN rose 0.11% to 3.8649.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 96.81.
