Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Consumption sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which rose 10.10% or 1.52 points to trade at 16.57 at the close. Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5) added 5.59% or 1.33 points to end at 25.13 and Banco Bradesco SA (SA:BBDC3) was up 5.31% or 1.26 points to 24.97 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4), which lost 7.42% or 0.17 points to trade at 2.12 in late trade. Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3) declined 4.15% or 0.26 points to end at 6.00 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) shed 3.53% or 0.09 points to 2.46.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 186 to 142 and 7 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.19% to 44.75.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.26% or 13.70 to $1069.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.18% or 0.91 to hit $40.83 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 0.30% or 0.35 to trade at $118.10 .
USD/BRL was down 0.35% to 3.8058, while EUR/BRL fell 0.75% to 4.0511.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 99.72.
