Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Travel and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 2.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Attica Bank (AT:BOAr), which rose 20.00% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.042 at the close. Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) added 13.89% or 0.020 points to end at 0.164 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 12.50% or 0.007 points to 0.063 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which lost 12.50% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.133 in late trade. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 6.44% or 0.045 points to end at 0.654 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) shed 4.70% or 1.03 points to 20.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 54 to 32 and 7 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.77% or 8.40 to $1102.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.48% or 0.65 to hit $44.52 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.11% or 1.04 to trade at $50.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0971, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.7060.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 97.58.
