Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Sports, Banking and Leasing & Factoring sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.96% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 15.12% or 3.10 points to trade at 23.60 at the close. Eczacibasi Ilac (IS:ECILC) added 6.60% or 0.190 points to end at 3.070 and Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS) was up 6.36% or 5.25 points to 87.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER), which lost 7.36% or 2.95 points to trade at 37.15 in late trade. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) declined 6.13% or 0.200 points to end at 3.060 and Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) shed 5.26% or 0.060 points to 1.080.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 241 to 160 and 12 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.39% or 4.80 to $1223.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.65% or 1.00 to hit $59.50 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.09% or 0.73 to trade at $66.53 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.23% to 2.5976, while EUR/TRY fell 1.15% to 2.9556.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 93.65.
