Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Software & Computers, Technology and Beverage sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BRU:UCB), which rose 1.71% or 1.05 points to trade at 62.50 at the close. Delhaize Group (BRU:DELB) added 1.33% or 1.10 points to end at 84.00 and KBC (BRU:KBC) was up 0.98% or 0.570 points to 58.820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which lost 2.12% or 0.36 points to trade at 16.66 in late trade. Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BRU:ABI) declined 1.83% or 2.00 points to end at 107.45 and Belgacom (BRU:BCOM) shed 1.39% or 0.46 points to 32.55.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 116 to 54 and 3 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.81% or 9.60 to $1192.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.48% or 1.47 to hit $60.72 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.80% or 1.84 to trade at $67.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.87% to 1.1254, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.7168.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.77% at 94.38.
