Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Services and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 2.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which rose 5.77% or 0.380 points to trade at 6.990 at the close. Metro Pacifi I (PS:MPI) added 5.53% or 0.260 points to end at 4.980 and Universal Robi (PS:URC) was up 5.25% or 9.600 points to 192.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petron (PS:PCOR), which lost 1.28% or 0.100 points to trade at 7.620 in late trade. Intl Container (PS:ICT) declined 0.74% or 0.700 points to end at 94.000 and Aboitiz Power (PS:AP) shed 0.35% or 0.15 points to 42.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 133 to 50 and 15 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.40 to $1125.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.54% or 1.36 to hit $39.97 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.11% or 1.34 to trade at $44.48 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.29% to 7.2918, while USD/PHP rose 0.22% to 46.715.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.37.
