Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Glass and Textile sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.41% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were United Integ S (TW:2404), which rose 9.90% or 3.60 points to trade at 39.95 at the close. Altek (TW:3059) added 9.89% or 2.65 points to end at 29.45 and Chlitina (TW:4137) was up 9.79% or 30.50 points to 342.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hsin Ba Ba (TW:9906), which lost 10.00% or 1.85 points to trade at 16.65 in late trade. Grand Ocean (TW:5907) declined 9.94% or 3.45 points to end at 31.25 and Yoko Tech (TW:6131) shed 9.81% or 1.80 points to 16.55.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 548 to 287 and 3 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.58% or 0.23 to $40.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.88% or 0.39 to hit $44.86 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.45% or 15.70 to trade at $1096.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.41% to 32.770, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.1938.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 99.13.
