In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.51% or 0.80 to $53.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.37% or 0.81 to hit $59.41 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.20% or 2.30 to trade at $1161.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.87% to 30.955, while TWD/CNY rose 0.65% to 0.2015.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 96.24.
