Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 2.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Orion Oyj B (HEL:ORNBV), which rose 10.80% or 3.44 points to trade at 35.30 at the close. YIT Oyj (HEL:YTY1V) added 5.27% or 0.33 points to end at 6.59 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HEL:NRE1V) was up 3.85% or 1.02 points to 27.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HEL:OUT1V), which added 0.68% or 0.0260 points to trade at 3.8240 in late trade. Amer Sports Corporation (HEL:AMEAS) added 1.00% or 0.23 points to end at 23.22 and Wartsila Oyj Abp (HEL:WRT1V) gained 1.26% or 0.49 points to 39.52.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 153 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 3.37% or 1.93 to $58.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.65% or 1.37 to hit $53.02 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.31% or 3.60 to trade at $1159.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.1022, while EUR/GBP fell 0.56% to 0.7171.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.37% at 96.74.
