Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Property and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 1.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Sm Prime Hldgs (PS:SMPH), which rose 2.99% or 0.580 points to trade at 20.200 at the close. Jollibee Foods (PS:JFC) added 2.52% or 4.900 points to end at 200.000 and Metropolitan B (PS:MBT) was up 2.14% or 1.95 points to 92.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bdo Unibank (PS:BDO), which lost 1.08% or 1.20 points to trade at 110.00 in late trade. Manila Electri (PS:MER) declined 0.48% or 1.400 points to end at 292.800 and Lt Group (PS:LTG) shed 0.42% or 0.060 points to 14.360.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 81 and 8 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1176.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.63% or 0.39 to hit $61.40 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.54% or 0.35 to trade at $64.80 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.06% to 7.2624, while USD/PHP fell 0.05% to 45.080.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 95.19.
