Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Beverages & Tobacco and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.20% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP), which rose 18.52% or 0.50 points to trade at 3.20 at the close. Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) added 13.95% or 169.80 points to end at 1386.90 and Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) was up 11.11% or 2.60 points to 26.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which lost 21.93% or 570.10 points to trade at 2030.00 in late trade. Dunamis Capital PLC (CM:CSEC) declined 12.66% or 2.90 points to end at 20.00 and Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) shed 10.87% or 50.00 points to 410.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 118 to 78 and 47 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.43% or 0.14 to $32.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.11% or 0.04 to hit $35.48 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.20% or 14.60 to trade at $1235.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.15% to 202.300, while USD/LKR rose 0.92% to 145.950.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 98.19.
