Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Basic Metals and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO), which rose 14.78% or 0.340 points to trade at 2.640 at the close. Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) added 3.41% or 0.90 points to end at 27.30 and Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) was up 3.38% or 0.17 points to 5.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS), which lost 4.61% or 0.470 points to trade at 9.730 in late trade. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.57% or 0.010 points to end at 0.270 and Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) shed 3.27% or 0.450 points to 13.300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 228 to 176 and 13 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.32% or 3.90 to $1210.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.80% or 1.60 to hit $58.66 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 2.20% or 1.43 to trade at $66.06 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.36% to 2.6494, while EUR/TRY rose 1.40% to 2.9632.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.37% at 94.87.
