Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Capital Goods and Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Det norske oljeselskap ASA (OSLO:DETNOR), which rose 4.09% or 2.10 points to trade at 53.45 at the close. Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC) added 3.89% or 0.06 points to end at 1.71 and Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OSLO:GOGLT) was up 3.39% or 0.95 points to 28.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Akastor ASA (OSLO:AKAS), which lost 2.69% or 0.4 points to trade at 13.4 in late trade. Opera Software ASA (OSLO:OPERA) declined 1.87% or 1.15 points to end at 60.50 and Norsk Hydro ASA (OSLO:NHY) shed 0.90% or 0.32 points to 35.15.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 76 and 6 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.52% or 0.92 to $59.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.20% or 0.77 to hit $62.94 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.46% or 5.40 to trade at $1175.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.51% to 8.6858, while USD/NOK fell 0.48% to 7.7245.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 95.26.
