Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Technology and Tourism sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL), which rose 13.21% or 0.070 points to trade at 0.600 at the close. Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) added 7.44% or 0.43 points to end at 6.21 and Kartonsan (IS:KARTN) was up 7.32% or 20.70 points to 303.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which lost 2.35% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.830 in late trade. Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) declined 1.95% or 0.39 points to end at 19.60 and Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA) shed 1.89% or 0.74 points to 38.46.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 336 to 71 and 5 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 2.34% or 25.20 to $1051.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.22% or 0.79 to hit $34.73 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.14 to trade at $37.24 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.13% to 2.9304, while EUR/TRY fell 1.06% to 3.1703.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.89% at 99.28.
