Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Mining and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which rose 14.75% or 0.360 points to trade at 2.800 at the close. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) added 4.39% or 0.290 points to end at 6.900 and Relapasa (LM:REL) was up 2.62% or 0.006 points to 0.235 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which lost 4.04% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.950 in late trade. Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) declined 3.61% or 0.300 points to end at 8.000 and Unacem (LM:CEL) shed 2.29% or 0.060 points to 2.560.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 9 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.13% or 0.58 to $51.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.11% or 0.06 to hit $54.91 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.41% or 5.15 to trade at $1253.65 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2475, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.4584.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 100.61.
