Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Leasing & Factoring and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 7.80% or 2.15 points to trade at 29.70 at the close. Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) added 6.36% or 0.070 points to end at 1.170 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 5.46% or 0.450 points to 8.690 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which lost 12.90% or 3.00 points to trade at 20.25 in late trade. Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) declined 4.27% or 0.36 points to end at 8.07 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) shed 4.17% or 0.55 points to 12.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 232 to 167 and 16 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.77% or 8.90 to $1144.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.34% or 1.24 to hit $51.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.83% or 1.07 to trade at $57.60 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.70% to 2.6498, while EUR/TRY rose 0.26% to 2.9083.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 97.25.
