Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods & Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 0.32% or 0.340 points to trade at 106.740 at the close. Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) added 1.74% or 3.080 points to end at 179.630 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) was up 2.09% or 0.690 points to 33.670 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which lost 2.68% or 7.680 points to trade at 278.680 in late trade. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) declined 3.49% or 10.340 points to end at 286.310 and Arca Continental , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AC) shed 3.17% or 4.080 points to 124.810.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 81 to 79 and 8 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.62% or 8.20 to $1323.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.56% or 1.13 to hit $43.06 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.17% or 1.00 to trade at $45.09 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.24% to 18.7803, while EUR/MXN rose 1.40% to 20.6395.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.30.
