Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Auto, Glass and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Bizlink (TW:3665), which rose 9.95% or 19.50 points to trade at 215.50 at the close. Kian Shen (TW:1525) added 9.95% or 11.00 points to end at 121.50 and Sintronic Tech (TW:3536) was up 9.85% or 1.00 points to 11.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Swancor (TW:4733), which lost 8.78% or 11.50 points to trade at 119.50 in late trade. Precision (TW:3016) declined 8.23% or 2.05 points to end at 22.85 and Acelon Chem Fi (TW:1466) shed 4.86% or 0.70 points to 13.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 395 to 364 and 94 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.27% or 0.11 to $41.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.14% or 0.06 to hit $43.90 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.42% or 5.20 to trade at $1231.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.31% to 32.331, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2002.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 94.92.
