Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Tourism, Wood, Paper & Printing and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.10% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vakiflar Bankasi (IS:VAKBN), which rose 5.15% or 0.250 points to trade at 5.100 at the close. AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) added 4.17% or 0.050 points to end at 1.250 and Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) was up 3.85% or 0.050 points to 1.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which lost 5.40% or 0.31 points to trade at 5.43 in late trade. Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN) declined 3.27% or 0.050 points to end at 1.480 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) shed 3.25% or 0.63 points to 18.76.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 167 to 163 and 78 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 1.66% or 20.70 to $1227.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.45% or 0.19 to hit $41.95 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.45% or 0.20 to trade at $44.38 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.24% to 2.8534, while EUR/TRY rose 0.21% to 3.2173.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 94.88.
