Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Metal Products & Machinery, Transport and Tourism sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Aygaz (IS:AYGAZ), which rose 4.18% or 0.51 points to trade at 12.70 at the close. Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) added 3.31% or 0.140 points to end at 4.370 and Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) was up 2.94% or 0.15 points to 5.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Brisa (IS:BRISA), which lost 3.07% or 0.25 points to trade at 7.90 in late trade. Petkim (IS:PETKM) declined 2.89% or 0.120 points to end at 4.030 and Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS) shed 2.77% or 0.14 points to 4.92.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 178 to 156 and 79 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 1.36% or 16.70 to $1240.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.28% or 0.86 to hit $36.89 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.26% or 0.90 to trade at $38.94 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.49% to 2.8567, while EUR/TRY rose 0.48% to 3.2557.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 94.42.
