Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 declined 1.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V), which rose 2.72% or 0.088 points to trade at 3.318 at the close. Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) added 0.21% or 0.06 points to end at 29.05 and Elisa Oyj (HE:ELI1V) was down 0.44% or 0.15 points to 34.17 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which lost 4.81% or 1.46 points to trade at 28.92 in late trade. Kemira Oyj (HE:KRA1V) declined 3.82% or 0.39 points to end at 9.81 and Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV) shed 2.81% or 0.82 points to 28.39.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 106 to 67 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.80% or 0.32 to $40.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.60% or 0.23 to hit $38.55 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.62% or 7.60 to trade at $1236.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1382, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.7911.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 94.56.
