Investing.com – Colombia equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Public Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombia, the COLCAP gained 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the COLCAP were Canacol Energy Ltd (CN:CNE), which rose 1.58% or 130.0 points to trade at 8340.0 at the close. Bcolombia (CN:BIC) added 1.54% or 380.0 points to end at 25080.0 and Bancolombia Pf (CN:BIC_p1) was up 1.53% or 400.0 points to 26600.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp (CN:PRU), which lost 7.06% or 215.0 points to trade at 2830.0 in late trade. Avianca Holdings Pf (CN:AVT_p) declined 0.74% or 15.0 points to end at 2005.0 and Celsia SA (CN:CEL) shed 0.42% or 15.0 points to 3555.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 13 to 8 and 6 ended unchanged on the Colombia Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, US coffee C for May delivery was up 0.58% or 0.71 to $122.38 . Meanwhile, US cocoa for delivery in May rose 1.39% or 41.50 to hit $3018.00 , while the April Gold contract fell 0.69% or 8.70 to trade at $1254.20 a troy ounce.
USD/COP was up 2.83% to 3204.25, while BRL/COP rose 4.44% to 866.58.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 97.14.
