Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Food & Beverages and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.32% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 26.83% or 0.022 points to trade at 0.104 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 11.69% or 0.560 points to end at 5.350 and Minsur (LM:MINi) was up 10.77% or 0.070 points to 0.720 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which lost 5.26% or 0.150 points to trade at 2.700 in late trade. Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) declined 3.75% or 0.95 points to end at 24.35 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) shed 1.24% or 1.400 points to 111.400.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 6 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.49% or 0.15 to $30.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.45% or 0.50 to hit $34.00 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.91% or 23.10 to trade at $1234.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.13% to 3.5080, while EUR/PEN fell 0.54% to 3.8885.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 96.87.
