Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 2.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Mytilineos (AT:MYTr), which rose 8.16% or 0.24 points to trade at 3.18 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) added 7.94% or 0.073 points to end at 0.992 and Titan Cement (AT:TTNr) was up 6.83% or 1.160 points to 18.140 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iaso (AT:IASr), which lost 5.43% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.470 in late trade. Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) declined 5.00% or 0.14 points to end at 2.66 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 3.33% or 0.003 points to 0.090.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 76 to 27 and 9 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.45% or 4.90 to $1085.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.82% or 0.25 to hit $30.14 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.19% or 0.62 to trade at $29.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.0901, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.7700.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 99.19.
